Wantagh Middle School has a bunch of clubs that you can join! Most of the clubs have very flexible schedules, and it is very cool that you have freedom to join as many as you’d like. One club that I joined, the Class Of 2028 club, ran a fundraiser for a hospital. Some of the boys created t-shirts in memory of James Lodato, a boy in my grade who passed away from cancer, and we raised so much money for the hospital. That’s what some clubs are about: feeling the joy of helping people. Another club is the B.E.S.T club which I also joined this year. We sold pink Starbursts for October (breast cancer awareness month). The last one is Student Council; we did two things this year that I thought were really cool. The whole school decorated breast cancer awareness ribbons, and then student council collected them and hung them up! Another cool thing that they did was the whole school donated food for Thanksgiving, and our student council went “shopping” and boxed all the food for the families who needed them. There are many more clubs you can join such as Robotics Club, Comic Book Club, Eco Warriors Club, and of course, Smoke Signals. I’m sure there is at least one club you would like to try out!
