Have you ever seen the Pitch Perfect movies? If so, you’d know that the Barden Bellas sing a cappella. A cappella is a style of singing a song without a backing track or instrument. There is a lot of harmony, melody, and volume that goes along with singing a cappella. In our school, there are actually 2 a cappella clubs, a select group and a general group. A cappella groups are great for people who have confidence in their voice and have a background in choir/ chorus. Our school’s a cappella group is actually going to sing at the spring choir concert later in the year.

List of a capella groups to listen to/ watch:

    • The movie,  Pitch Perfect.

  • Pentatonix
  • Acoustix
  • Home Free

  • The show, Glee, sings a cappella songs
  • Some Queen songs are a cappella songs, like Bohemian Rhapsody

If you were fascinated by the sound of those a cappella groups, consider joining or sitting in on the school’s a cappella group. It is never late to join! But, if you don’t want to join, you can always listen.
