Have you ever heard of Ms. Babcock? Well if you haven’t, she’s the 6th and 8th grade band teacher. Now if you don’t know much about her here’s your chance to learn more about her! When I interviewed her I thought people might want to know where she worked before working at WMS. I found out that she worked at East Meadow. She also thinks that she is going to love working at WMS because she loves children and knows that they are trying their hardest to learn the music. Ms. Babcock decided to teach at our school because she really likes to teach at the middle school level. If you are in 6th or 8th grade and you are in band, you might have guessed that she likes to sing, and she definitely does! You might have also guessed that her favorite instrument is the French horn (which should just be called a Horn because it’s not French). Did you know that Ms. Babcock can play the flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, horn (French horn), percussion, and the piano? That’s a total of over 13 instruments! When Ms. Babcock has some free time, she likes to run, bake sweets, read, go to museums in NYC, and see movies. Just like most musicians, she loves to listen to music. She also loves to teach music to others. I hope you enjoyed learning about our awesome new band teacher.
