Divergent Book Review

Jane B.

Divergent, by Veronica Roth, is a great book!  If you like the Hunger Games, you will definitely love Divergent, too!  The book is about a futuristic dystopian land that has five factions.  These sprouted when the last civilization failed, and different people believed that it failed for different reasons.  The factions are: Dauntless,

Abnegation, Candor, Erudite, and Amity.  When you turn sixteen, you get to choose either to leave your faction or stay.  To help you decide, you get a test.  The book focuses on a girl named Tris, who is from Abnegation.  When she gets her test result back, it says that she is Divergent, and I will not spoil what that means.  When it is time for her to pick, she chooses Dauntless, and the book is about the trials that she has to go through to be an official member of the Dauntless faction.

This is a great book, and I recommend it for everyone who likes dystopian books.  I loved it so much that I could not stop reading it!  If you liked Divergent, there are also two other books called Insurgent and Allegiant.  I hope you enjoy Divergent as much as I did!
